Trading post price alerts
One item, one target price – that is all it takes. The Guild Wars 2 trading post is watched, and a notification goes out the moment that price is reached.
How it works
- Find an item. The whole tradeable catalogue is there, in English and German.
- Set a threshold. Sell price drops below, buy offer rises above – in gold, silver and copper, the way the game shows it.
- Wait. The server checks every five minutes. When the condition holds, a notification arrives.
A running app is not needed for that.
What deliberately does not happen
- No user account. No sign-up, no email address, no password. Alerts are tied to a random identifier the device generates itself.
- No advertising, no analytics, no tracking.
- No game account. Neither an API key nor credentials are ever asked for, and nothing of the Guild Wars 2 account is visible. Only public market data is read.
Item icons come from this project's own server as well. The device talks to exactly one server – and to nothing else.
Price history
For every item the movement of the buy offer and the sell price is shown – as a chart, or as a table if numbers are preferable to lines.
Offline
Without a connection the last loaded state stays on screen, with a note saying how old it is. Rather than an empty page and an error message.
